We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tractor Operator to join our growing landscaping team.  The ideal candidate will primarily focus on operating tractors with wide mowers that are pull-behind, ensuring the landscape is well maintained and meets the standards of our company and clients.

This role will involve the use of machinery and equipment and will include physical exertion (manual handling etc.) on a daily basis.

Position: Tractor Operator

Location: Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin & Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin

Reporting to: Contracts Manager

Contract: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

Grass Cutting and Landscape Maintenance:

  • Operate tractors with wide pull-behind mowers to cut and maintain large grass areas efficiently.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure the mower’s blades are sharp and effective.
  • Work closely with the landscaping team to ensure the aesthetics and health of the landscape.

Equipment Maintenance and Safety:

  • Conduct daily checks on tractors and mowers to ensure they are in safe and operational condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning, oiling and minor repairs to prolong equipment life.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for major repairs to supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or damage.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work in harmony with other landscaping staff to ensure tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for landscape improvement.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.

Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Assist with other landscaping tasks as needed which may include planting, watering, fertilizing and more.
  • Stay updated with the latest landscaping techniques and machinery enhancements.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating tractors, especially with wide pull-behind mowers.
  • Knowledge of basic tractor maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with other landscaping equipment and techniques will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
